Set up and operate a conventional horizontal boring machine to produce high-quality components
Operate additional machine tools including lathe, milling machine, and drill
Manufacture components from conventional engineering drawings and specifications
Work consistently to tight engineering tolerances
Inspect and measure your own work throughout the manufacturing process
Assist in the creation and development of standard working procedures
Contribute to team-based continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring a clean and safe working environment
Adhere to all safe working practices within a machine shop environment
Proven experience operating a horizontal boring machine
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Experience working to tight tolerances
Knowledge of safe working practices in a machine shop
Desirable (but not essential):
Experience using a Kerns Richard SH75 or similar machine
Counterbalance forklift truck licence
Ability to operate an overhead crane for loading and unloading parts
